The mowers are here, finishing up the trimming and cleanup. It’ll be two weeks tomorrow that they mowed the first time this season and it looks really nice again. Everything is so green! It’s been an early, damp Spring and no sign of letup. It’s in the mid 70’s with 61% humidity. Ick. We areContinue reading “That Long Week Isn’t Over Yet”

It’s Been A Long Week
I pray your Holy Week and Triduum was blessed and productive. We’ve been home nursing acute sinusitis/bronchitis/coughing/nausea for the entire time. Today is the first day I can claim to feel anything like a human being once again. I finished the antibiotic and steroid last night and I’m taking it easy today, as is Brad.Continue reading “It’s Been A Long Week”
On The Mend
We are both better, but tired. The antibiotics and steroids are working and I was able to drive in to town and pick up a grocery order so we have what we need for the foreseeable future. I’ve got a couple of things to prepare for the big freezer but it will wait until later.Continue reading “On The Mend”
Be Back Later
Neither of us slept well last night, neither of us is feeling well. Brad is napping and I’m about to. Sinus congestion, joint aches, headache. Yuck. On a positive note…the mowers were here yesterday and the place looks great. First time I recall them coming so early to mow and it needed mowing. Grass wasContinue reading “Be Back Later”
A Slight Miscalculation
The 10 lb estimate I gave for the Allons-Y! Fiber Arts fiber stash turned out to be 24 lbs. Next up is what you see in this photo. The bottom shelf is easy. Those are 1 lb bags of fiber, all seven of them. The two baskets and the plastic bin contain samples of fiberContinue reading “A Slight Miscalculation”
One Down, One To Go
I finished spinning the first four ounces of BFL/Tussah combed top last night and I have the next four ounces weighed out and divided into half ounce strips for ease in spinning. I swapped out the bobbins and started the next one before calling it a day at 9:45 pm. Still feeling a bit underContinue reading “One Down, One To Go”
Elon Strikes Again, And Again
Yesterday was quite interesting. James O’Keefe, Emerald Robinson, Matt Couch, Mike Lindell and others had their accounts on Twitter restored. Then there was installment #6 of the Twitter Files aimed at the FBI. Fox was losing their collective minds starting with “Elon Musk’s Twitter Massacre” on The Five over Musk suspending ‘journalists’ who were doxxingContinue reading “Elon Strikes Again, And Again”
November! How Did That Happen?
So, November 1st just snuck right by me yesterday. Here we are with a brand new month and absolutely gorgeous weather to boot! It’s a few minutes after noon on Wednesday, the sun is shining, a lovely breeze is blowing through the house from the open living room window and the front door. It’s 67°Continue reading “November! How Did That Happen?”
Success!
I picked Joshua up at 10 am and we headed to town, talked to the young man at Game Stop and after checking with Audrey it was decided that they just needed a new game console. I was able to replace the Playstation 4 console at the farm with a Playstation 4 Pro, a refurbishedContinue reading “Success!”
Restarting A UFO
In the fiber world a UFO is an Un Finished Object, or unfinished project. This cowl has been on the needle since last Fall when I started it, set it aside, and promptly forgot about it. It’s an easy knit, ninety stitches on a 16″ size 4 needle using fingering yarn. It’s a perfect projectContinue reading “Restarting A UFO”
