My sewing desk is in place, serger and sewing machine ready to use. All my storage boxes fit on the bottom shelf out of the way and I’ve got plenty of space in the drawers for the things I’ll use the most. I won’t need shelves on the wall above the desk after all. IContinue reading “Ready, Set, Sew!”

Home Cooking
I put three large, boneless, skinless chicken breast halves in the shallow crock pot insert and seasoned them with salt and pepper. Then I topped them with sliced garlic cloves and a sliced medium red onion and poured BBQ sauce over the top and set the crock pot on low overnight. After breakfast I turnedContinue reading “Home Cooking”
Good Day For Soup
It was cool and windy today so the potato soup was a big hit. I washed and cubed two big baking potatoes, skins on, added chopped celery and red onion and a quart and a half of homemade chicken broth, sea salt, fresh ground black pepper, and a dash of ground chipotle chili pepper. Baking Prep And Homemade Chicken Broth
I’m in the mood to do some baking and I’ve assembled the ingredients for a batch of oatmeal cookies. Back To The 1980’s
I’ve been wanting to knit a short-sleeved pullover sweater for myself and knew I had a pattern leaflet somewhere. The patterns call for sport weight yarn and I may haveContinue reading “Back To The 1980’s”
Crock-Pot Roast
I’ve been wanting to cook something in the Crock-Pot for ages and a roast sounded perfect. I found a nice cut of meat and I’ve got carrots, new potatoes and a red onion to toss in as well. First thing is to brown the meat on top of the stove. I like to use AdoboContinue reading “Crock-Pot Roast”
Time For A Dietary Detox
I’ve had more than my share of pain medications and antibiotics this year and I’m looking forward to seeing our Naturopath this month. Dr. Shawn Sieracki has the Whole Body Healing Center in Lewisville, Texas, a little over an hours drive from here. Now it’s time to flush all of that out of my systemContinue reading “Time For A Dietary Detox”
The Sweet Smell of Spring
The rain finally stopped and the sun came out so we’ve been enjoying having the house open again. There has been a nice southerly breeze blowing the scent of privet and honeysuckle in through the open doors and windows. We enjoy it while we can until one of our neighbors decides it’s time to burnContinue reading “The Sweet Smell of Spring”
