Frustration Level Rising

We weathered the storms just fine last night and got a good bit of rain, which we needed. It’s been overcast and in the high 40’s all day. My arthritis has been letting me know that the weather has changed. Again. I’ve been working on this garter stitch potholder and as you can tell IContinue reading “Frustration Level Rising”

A New Pattern

I got to thinking about the potholder patterns that I’ve been using and out of the blue I got an idea for another knitted version. I don’t have a long enough circular needle in the size I want to do the Magic Loop cast-on, so I’m using a provisional cast-on and doing garter stitch inContinue reading “A New Pattern”

Arctic Cold Front is Here

This photo was taken several years ago, fortunately nothing like this is in our forecast, just high winds and below freezing temps. Sweaters are notorious for riding up in the back and appearing longer in the front. This pattern called for German short row shaping for the yoke and since IContinue reading “Shaping A Sweater”

Sweater Weather is Here

I keep coming back to this pullover booklet. I can’t decide which one of these I like the best, but I’m thinking long sleeves would suit me, just something soft that drapes nicely, a snuggly pullover for around the house. I’ve got both worsted and fingering yarn to pick from in my stash and I’mContinue reading “Sweater Weather is Here”

Tweaking A Pattern

I decided to try something different with the Swiffer cover and eliminated the tabs and buttons. This one went very quickly and I’m pleased with the result. I did nine repeats instead of seven and added three rows of garter stitch before binding off. I made ties of twisted yarn and just snugged cover upContinue reading “Tweaking A Pattern”
