Wow. We got up at a reasonable hour and set about getting things done around the house, meals, chores, etc. The next thing I know it’s 7 pm in the evening and I haven’t posted a thing! I finally remembered which yarn I used for the test knit. It’s one of Jo Dee’s Fishknit’s Yarns,Continue reading “Where Did My Day Go?”

Starting a Sweater
I dug out several skeins of Cascade 220 worsted in brown and found a top-down pullover pattern that I liked online, The Weekend Sweater by Darling Jadore. It’s very easy and has short rows to shape the neck so it’s higher at the back of the sweater. I’ve finished the neck shaping and I’m onContinue reading “Starting a Sweater”
Another Finished Project
I altered the pattern somewhat since it called for worsted and I used DK yarn. It needs a soaking in wool wash and blocking. Before blocking it fits me nicely, coming down to just below my earlobes. It will likely relax quite a bit when it’s wet finished. Now I am back to working onContinue reading “Another Finished Project”
Stash Busting Again
I was digging thru a bin of yarn and came across a single 50 g skein of Manos Silk Blend left over from a previous project and decided to find something to do with it. I figured it would be enough for a hat and so far, so good. The pattern is The Amanda HatContinue reading “Stash Busting Again”
Good Morning!
The leaves are turning and falling. We can sit with the windows open and hear them rustle to the ground. I took this photo yesterday afternoon while strolling around the perimeter of our yard. I’m enjoying my afternoon strolls and getting a bit of fresh air and sunshine. As I was walking near the creekContinue reading “Good Morning!”
We Are Blessed
It is another lovely day in NE Texas. It’s 80° with a light breeze so I went for a stroll and took the camera. We only go to town when it’s necessary and enjoy staying at home as much as possible now that Brad is retired. There is so much highway construction in our areaContinue reading “We Are Blessed”
Finished Hat on the Horizon
I have an inch or two of plain knitting with the main color and then I’ll start the decreases for the top of the hat. Haven’t decided how long I want the hat to be so I’ll play it by ear. The Hitchhiker scarf is coming along nicely. I like patterns that have easily memorizedContinue reading “Finished Hat on the Horizon”
Success!
I’ve worked on this most of the evening after I got in my groove. Just realized the time and decided to post an update. I wasn’t happy with my gauge carrying one strand of yarn in each hand and figured out how to carry both strands in my right hand without getting them twisted. MyContinue reading “Success!”
Hello, October!
The sun just came out after a couple of days of clouds and rain. It’s a gorgeous Fall morning and 72°, no breeze to speak of. And humid, of course. We’ve got heavy storms forecast for later today into tomorrow. Again, a good time to stay home and knit. I will need to make aContinue reading “Hello, October!”
