Smart Phones and Old Friends

I haven’t had a call on my cell phone in weeks then out of the blue it rang while I was sorting laundry. I didn’t recognize the number but it was a knitting buddy I haven’t talked to in ages. She also has a new ‘smart’ phone and a new number. We used to meetContinue reading “Smart Phones and Old Friends”

It’s Friday!

I just got through watching Bongino’s podcast for today and I love it when Joe does his best 1960’s game show host voice with “Iiiiit’s Friiiiiiidaaaaay!” Somehow, Thursday eluded me and I totally forgot to post something. Gosh. Blink and you miss something. I really enjoyed the podcast today and I’m eagerly awaiting the releaseContinue reading “It’s Friday!”

Summer Sweater

I’ve had more thoughts about a summer weight sweater and using what I have in my stash. I bought these skeins of yarn from Jo Dee at Fishknits Yarn that were dyed to be used together, blending from green through burgundy. I want a top-down, raglan sleeve sweater and I think that I can manageContinue reading “Summer Sweater”

Trying To Be Creative

I’ve been thinking about my next project. I really need a summer weight cardigan. I’ve been through these bins several times and I don’t have enough of the same, or suitable yarn, for the project. I’ve thought about trying to combine different yarns but nothing really works for me so far and I’m determined NOTContinue reading “Trying To Be Creative”

End of the Month, End of the Day

It’s after 10:00 pm, last day of March. The wildlife was out at dusk and I can hear the barred owls now. I’ve been busy all day and just realized I hadn’t posted anything. I finished my first purple variegated washcloth as well as “Separation of Power” by Vince Flynn. The secret is out andContinue reading “End of the Month, End of the Day”

A/C in March, Welcome to Texas

The weather warmed up rapidly today and we ended up turning the heat off and the A/C on this morning. It’s in the low 80’s and a bit too warm to have the house open at the moment. It’s not particularly humid and there is a bit of a breeze, but we both like aContinue reading “A/C in March, Welcome to Texas”

Coping With Stress

Brad and I have a good life together with nowhere near the levels of stress we’ve had in the past with his job and our individual health and family crises. Part of me is still in the ‘what’s next’ mindset because our lives are so good right now it’s like I’m waiting for something toContinue reading “Coping With Stress”

Business As Usual

It’s been a windy day, high in the lower 60’s, with partly cloudy skies. All the cleaning has caught up to me and I’ve been goofing off all day, not having slept well last night. No big deal. I’ll sleep fine tonight. It used to bug me when I had a sleepless night, then IContinue reading “Business As Usual”

Peaceful Day at Home

I spent some time this afternoon and tidied my workroom, put away the clutter, and made more room for my table and the recliner. Now I can get out of the living room occasionally and work on my knitting in here. And I can pull the floor inkle loom up to the straight-back chair andContinue reading “Peaceful Day at Home”

Blocked, Dry, Ready to Use

The knitted potholder measures 7.5″ X 7.5″ after washing and laying out to dry. It only lost .5″ so that’s a win for me. I like that it goes more quickly than the crocheted version. I’d like to have three more like it and toss the old, smaller, crocheted ones that are so stained. IContinue reading “Blocked, Dry, Ready to Use”
