What A Difference A Day Makes!

The sun is shining, beautiful fluffy clouds in the sky, grass is greening up, won’t be much longer and we won’t need the A/C running. We were up much earlier than usual this morning. Brad had early appointments and I had errands to run. Got my hair cut. Picked up a couple of things atContinue reading “What A Difference A Day Makes!”

Stash Diving Again

Somewhere in all of this stuff there is a ziplock bag with left-over yarn from my knitted socks. I can see it quite plainly in my mind’s eye but as yet I haven’t managed to unearth the blooming thing! I always keep the left-over yarn in case I need to mend a pair of socksContinue reading “Stash Diving Again”

More Hand Towels

The first hand towel that I knitted with this pattern was white with yellow and blue stripes. I decided to do a yellow one and blue one as well and add them to the dishcloths for Audrey’s kitchen. I have plenty of yarn to work with. These towels will have the fold-over tab and aContinue reading “More Hand Towels”

Clean Air! No Howling Wind!

Finally! After a night of thunderstorms, over five inches of rain and flash flooding across the road and our property, we have a reasonable, cool breeze with sunny skies and fresh, clean air! It’s a bit too breezy to have both doors open but it makes a huge difference with the front door open. IContinue reading “Clean Air! No Howling Wind!”

Trying To Be Creative

I’ve been thinking about my next project. I really need a summer weight cardigan. I’ve been through these bins several times and I don’t have enough of the same, or suitable yarn, for the project. I’ve thought about trying to combine different yarns but nothing really works for me so far and I’m determined NOTContinue reading “Trying To Be Creative”

Windy April Day

The wind is back with a vengeance today. I had to take the flag down before it was ripped off the side of the garage and I closed both overhead doors. I left the north and south side doors open to air out the garage and it looks a little strange not to see myContinue reading “Windy April Day”

Battle Won. Frustration Over.

Finished. 7 1/2″ square, 1/2″ thick. I’ll launder it with some of my knitted washcloths but it won’t go in the dryer, I’ll smooth it flat and let it dry. It’s very elastic and plenty thick to prevent burns. Kitchener stitch is a bear using cotton yarn. The bloomin’ stuff just won’t slide through theContinue reading “Battle Won. Frustration Over.”

Another Perfect Day

It was a quiet day in our little corner of NE Texas. Brad took the grandsons to church and brought us lunch from Panera afterwards. I’ve been reading and knitting, making progress and enjoying the down-time from all the cleaning lately. I actually fell asleep in my recliner and was dead to the world forContinue reading “Another Perfect Day”

A New Pattern

I got to thinking about the potholder patterns that I’ve been using and out of the blue I got an idea for another knitted version. I don’t have a long enough circular needle in the size I want to do the Magic Loop cast-on, so I’m using a provisional cast-on and doing garter stitch inContinue reading “A New Pattern”
