Plying Away

I finished plying the BFL/Tussah earlier today and decided to start plying two more full bobbins. I’m not sure without looking it up, but I think the purple singles are Polworth. In any case I’ve got a good start on plying them.

Photo seems a bit blurry, I’ll do better next time. I am finished spinning for today and will work on it again tomorrow. I don’t want to overdo things and get my left shoulder flared up again. Tonight after a hot shower I’ll grab the Chryofreeze. It works wonders and tomorrow I get my weekly chiropractic adjustment so that will help. I’ll refrain from spinning for the rest of the day after my adjustment and give my shoulder and neck a rest. My marathon spinning days are in the rear view mirror so to speak and I’ve learned to take my time, and when to stop and rest.

I should be able to finish the purple yarn on the cowl by bedtime, 7″ so far and maybe another half inch to go before I start the next yarn, kettle dyed this time.

It seems like every photo I take of this cowl I get different colors. Must be the lighting and the time of day.

I hear the garage door, Brad is home from his meeting at church so I’ll finish this post and be done with the laptop for the evening. I’m cutting back on my Twitter and Pogo time and enjoying other things. Have a blessed Monday night, ya’ll.

I am a Native Texan, Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Catholic Convert residing in rural North East Texas since 1975 when I married my husband and this small town girl became a country girl. I was taught to knit at the age of ten and discovered the writings of Elizabeth Zimmerman shortly after I married. I learned to ‘unvent’ things as I went along, to create my own patterns and generally have a blast with yarn and needles. In the mid 1980’s I explored the idea of spinning my own yarn and eventually got interested in weaving on a floor loom. I have three spinning wheels and a 24″ four-shaft Herald floor loom that I purchased from a friend in the 1990’s. I also enjoy sewing, tatting and making rosaries. I have a work room that contains my fiber, yarn, floor loom, sewing machines, serger and rosary making supplies. I have a spinning corner in a bedroom next to my work room, both with north windows looking toward the creek.
