On The Mend

We are both better, but tired. The antibiotics and steroids are working and I was able to drive in to town and pick up a grocery order so we have what we need for the foreseeable future. I’ve got a couple of things to prepare for the big freezer but it will wait until later. We’ll need to get the trash gathered up and taken out for pickup in the morning.

The only other thing we have going on this week is to stay home and take care of ourselves. The weather is warm, breezy and humid and we have more rain on the way. I need to catch up on a little housework but it’s not much and I’ll go at my own speed when I feel like it. I hate to be down sick and be surrounded by dirty laundry and dishes and unmade beds. It just takes me longer to get the normal stuff done.

I’m going to spend some time in the recliner with my knitting…haven’t touched it in days…and find something on streaming video to watch. NOT the news. Not interested in Twitter today, spent too much time online yesterday and didn’t gain a thing by it. Well, strictly speaking that’s not accurate because I did add a few names to my prayer concerns.

Hope your Holy Week is a blessed one. Holy Tuesday commemorates Jesus driving the money changers out of the Temple. Take care and God bless, ya’ll.

I am a Native Texan, Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Catholic Convert residing in rural North East Texas since 1975 when I married my husband and this small town girl became a country girl. I was taught to knit at the age of ten and discovered the writings of Elizabeth Zimmerman shortly after I married. I learned to ‘unvent’ things as I went along, to create my own patterns and generally have a blast with yarn and needles. In the mid 1980’s I explored the idea of spinning my own yarn and eventually got interested in weaving on a floor loom. I have three spinning wheels and a 24″ four-shaft Herald floor loom that I purchased from a friend in the 1990’s. I also enjoy sewing, tatting and making rosaries. I have a work room that contains my fiber, yarn, floor loom, sewing machines, serger and rosary making supplies. I have a spinning corner in a bedroom next to my work room, both with north windows looking toward the creek.
