Been A Slow Day

I finally got started on the semi-solid cranberry red yarn. And looking at this photo I can see that the last colorway that had a knot in it about halfway through the ball of yarn is clearly from two separate batches of yarn. Not that it matters since this is a scrap yarn cowl anyway.

Brad went in to town to pick up mail and grab us each a salad at the coffee shop for lunch today. I ate too much. Again. But it was so good! I only snacked this evening to make sure I don’t go to bed and wake up hungry. Lunch was very late and we need to try to eat a little earlier. Such is life in the slow lane!

The EMR Smart Patch I ordered for my laptop arrived in the mail today along with a box of wide mouth lids and rings for canning. I have some plastic, one piece, wide mouth lids on the way as well. I’m getting ready to be able to vacuum seal dry goods in canning jars with the vacuum sealer.

I feel better about having the Smart Patch on the laptop now. Years ago I had a terrible time with chronic fatigue and when Dr. Shawn ran a diagnostic scan on me it showed that I was sensitive to electric current in my surroundings. I wore a Teslar watch for awhile and it really helped and I no longer need it but I don’t want that problem creeping back up on me again since I spend so much time using my laptop. The patch cancels out the microwaves that are put off by so many high tech devices like laptops, 5G cell phones, routers and digital TVs. You need one patch per device but I think this is all I’ll need. I’m not in close proximity to the other electronic devices in the house.

I enjoyed an ice cold Guinness for St. Patrick’s Day before heading to bed last night and slept very well! I will repeat that tonight…

I haven’t done much today and so I’m not sleepy yet. I might as well stay up a bit longer, enjoy my Guinness and my knitting while watching Dr. Pol reruns.

I got caught up on laundry yesterday, the kitchen is clean and Brad is in bed. I’ve got my cell phone and my fitbit charging, I’m showered and dressed for bed, all I need to do is brush my teeth after I finish my Guinness. It’s been a lovely day, still a bit cool. Brad changed the air filter for the heat pump and the outside water filter. We’ll change out the counter top water filter after we get a replacement filter from Neo Life on Monday.

Hope your Saturday was as blessed and peaceful as ours.

I am a Native Texan, Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Catholic Convert residing in rural North East Texas since 1975 when I married my husband and this small town girl became a country girl. I was taught to knit at the age of ten and discovered the writings of Elizabeth Zimmerman shortly after I married. I learned to ‘unvent’ things as I went along, to create my own patterns and generally have a blast with yarn and needles. In the mid 1980’s I explored the idea of spinning my own yarn and eventually got interested in weaving on a floor loom. I have three spinning wheels and a 24″ four-shaft Herald floor loom that I purchased from a friend in the 1990’s. I also enjoy sewing, tatting and making rosaries. I have a work room that contains my fiber, yarn, floor loom, sewing machines, serger and rosary making supplies. I have a spinning corner in a bedroom next to my work room, both with north windows looking toward the creek.
