Change In Plans

Brad was up and gone early to spend the day on the gun range with the Chief and Officers from Oak Ridge P.D. When I got up about 8:30 it looked like it had been raining and it was foggy. I had hopes of having the house open and working in the garage. Wrong. It’s humid enough to drown frogs out there and I retreated back into the house with the A/C, my laptop and my knitting.

Enough of that nonsense! Asthma and humidity do not mix. I’m glad there is a breeze blowing so the guys won’t be miserable out on the range today. It’s supposed to reach the 80’s this afternoon and it’s 78° at 2:30 pm so it will probably make it to 80° before long.

The problems I was having on Instagram the past few days have been resolved. The only way I could post anything was thru an app on my phone. Kept getting an error message when trying to work from the laptop. Glad that is fixed. I’ve deleted the IG app from my phone. Don’t like using social media on my phone, rather use the laptop.

There’s nothing worth watching on cable TV this afternoon and I couldn’t find anything that interested me on streaming video so I opted for peace and quiet instead. It’s nice. I tried having my favorite music channel playing on SiriusXM but didn’t care for the music they are playing today. I might pop a disc in the bluray player later if I really want to watch something, or I could put a CD in the stereo.

I’ll probably read and knit and enjoy the peace and quiet. Not much going on, such is life in the slow lane. I love it! Hope your Saturday is as blessed as ours.

I am a Native Texan, Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Catholic Convert residing in rural North East Texas since 1975 when I married my husband and this small town girl became a country girl. I was taught to knit at the age of ten and discovered the writings of Elizabeth Zimmerman shortly after I married. I learned to ‘unvent’ things as I went along, to create my own patterns and generally have a blast with yarn and needles. In the mid 1980’s I explored the idea of spinning my own yarn and eventually got interested in weaving on a floor loom. I have three spinning wheels and a 24″ four-shaft Herald floor loom that I purchased from a friend in the 1990’s. I also enjoy sewing, tatting and making rosaries. I have a work room that contains my fiber, yarn, floor loom, sewing machines, serger and rosary making supplies. I have a spinning corner in a bedroom next to my work room, both with north windows looking toward the creek.
