Productive Day

I started the next colorway on the cowl and our electricians came out today and located the problem with the breaker box in the garage. It’s nothing that can’t be fixed fairly easily, basically connecting it to the main breaker box on the side of the house the way it should have been done when the garage was built in 2000. It may take a few weeks to get the right size breakers, ordering some things is still iffy with supply chains due to…you guessed it…the China Virus. Anyway, when it’s done…at no charge by the way…it will be as good as new.

The weather has stayed overcast and cool today. Brad had an appointment in town and brought lunch from Frank & Lola’s today: brisket tacos! I stayed in and puttered around the house and worked on my knitting.

The kitchen is clean, I’ve got breakfast planned…fried egg muffins…and the dishwasher is set to come on after we’ve gone to bed. We don’t have anything to do tomorrow away from home and we’ll enjoy some quiet time right here in our little corner of Texas away from all the craziness. The weather should be nice for the weekend and we can both enjoy being outdoors for a change.

There isn’t anything worth watching on cable TV tonight and I’ve got Midsomer Murders on streaming video while I knit. I’ll read a little more before I head to bed later…not much later since it’s already after 10 pm…and I’m looking forward to a hot shower first.

Hope your Thursday was a blessed one.

I am a Native Texan, Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Catholic Convert residing in rural North East Texas since 1975 when I married my husband and this small town girl became a country girl. I was taught to knit at the age of ten and discovered the writings of Elizabeth Zimmerman shortly after I married. I learned to ‘unvent’ things as I went along, to create my own patterns and generally have a blast with yarn and needles. In the mid 1980’s I explored the idea of spinning my own yarn and eventually got interested in weaving on a floor loom. I have three spinning wheels and a 24″ four-shaft Herald floor loom that I purchased from a friend in the 1990’s. I also enjoy sewing, tatting and making rosaries. I have a work room that contains my fiber, yarn, floor loom, sewing machines, serger and rosary making supplies. I have a spinning corner in a bedroom next to my work room, both with north windows looking toward the creek.
