Productive Day

After our chiropractic visit this afternoon…we’ve switched to afternoons instead of mornings…we stopped at our local Home Depot for a couple of things. We found what we need to replace the old line on the clothesline poles and we decided on a deep freeze for the garage.

We found a 20 cu ft Frigidaire that is a very reasonable price, there are plenty of them available and we could possibly get one delivered next week. We have plenty of space in the garage and it will be a good time to consolidate some storage shelves and get the garage cleaned up. We’ve taken a large plastic topped table out of the house and will use it in the garage instead of the heavy wooden topped table we’ve been using. We’ll check with Audrey and David and see if they have a use for it.

We got some cleaning done in both bedrooms and will finish up with that tomorrow. It was time to get rid of the dust under the beds and being able to raise the head and the foot of both beds sure makes it easier to clean! We are going to sit down and draw up a cleaning schedule so we can team up to keep the house in better shape. I can’t do it all by myself anymore and between the two of us we manage to get the job done. We can divide the house into sections and focus on one section at a time and in a week we will have done every room in the house.

I worked on the cowl on our trip to town and back and I should be ready to start the next color before it’s time for bed. I’ve got some Dr. Pol reruns to watch while I knit. We had homemade chicken soup for dinner and I remembered to get my NingXia Red and Field of Greens cocktail this evening. It really makes a difference in my energy level and digestion. Which reminds me…I haven’t taken my turmeric tablet yet. It’s best taken in the evening and that way I wake up in the mornings without so much stiffness in my neck and ankle.

I’m looking forward to getting more cleaning done around the house and out in the garage tomorrow. We’ll need to take some stuff out to the farm that I asked Audrey about last fall. I don’t use the small propane tanks or my outdoor dye pots anymore, she can use the tanks and the burners outdoors for canning, and that’s more stuff cleared out of our garage that can be put to use instead of gathering dust.

Hope your Tuesday was as gorgeous as ours. We had the house open and enjoyed the fresh air until dark. It’s so nice to be able to open the windows and doors and air out the house. Have a blessed night, ya’ll.

I am a Native Texan, Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Catholic Convert residing in rural North East Texas since 1975 when I married my husband and this small town girl became a country girl. I was taught to knit at the age of ten and discovered the writings of Elizabeth Zimmerman shortly after I married. I learned to ‘unvent’ things as I went along, to create my own patterns and generally have a blast with yarn and needles. In the mid 1980’s I explored the idea of spinning my own yarn and eventually got interested in weaving on a floor loom. I have three spinning wheels and a 24″ four-shaft Herald floor loom that I purchased from a friend in the 1990’s. I also enjoy sewing, tatting and making rosaries. I have a work room that contains my fiber, yarn, floor loom, sewing machines, serger and rosary making supplies. I have a spinning corner in a bedroom next to my work room, both with north windows looking toward the creek.
