UFO’s vs. WIP’s

These are UFO’s aka UnFinished Objects/Projects. I haven’t worked on these on a regular basis in a year or longer. I have a summer throw blanket for the youngest grandson…who is now two years old and probably won’t need it now; a ten stitch blanket in DK weight yarn; a ten stitch blanket in purple fingering yarn; a Harry Potter Scarf; an Advent Scarf from when I was still on Ravelry; a 4th Doctor Who Scarf; and a Prayer Shawl out of handspun yarn. I did get the Prayer Shawl out a few weeks ago and put it where I would remember to work on it, but it’s still where I put it in a project bag in my living room office chair.

These are WIP’s aka Works In Progress. All four of these are in the basket next to my recliner and lately I’ve spent more time on Brad’s brown socks and Mini Skein Cowl #4. I’m focusing on the WIP’s for the moment and when I’m finished with ALL of them I’ll tackle the UFO’s next. My plan is to finish all of them by the end of this summer. We shall see.

It’s been a quiet Sunday in our little corner of Texas. The sky is still overcast, no rain yet but there is a helluva storm system headed our way and due to hit here around 10 pm. The weather guy described hurricane strength winds, over 60 mph, for parts of Oklahoma but that shouldn’t impact us. It’s 67° at 4:45 pm and should stay around there until after midnight tonight. Apparently there are two fronts converging in the middle of Oklahoma but the worst of the front coming from the southwest should miss us. The sun has come out but will be setting soon.

Brad brought us lunch from Cotton Patch. It had been awhile since we did that. I like their seasoned salmon and steamed veggies. He also brought me a piece of carrot cake and made us some coffee mid-afternoon. I skipped breakfast, just wasn’t hungry, and for once I ate all my lunch.

I don’t think we’ll want much in the way of an evening meal, just enough to keep from waking up hungry during the night and to have enough on our stomachs to take our evening dose-pack of vitamins. I’m still watching Midsomer Murders reruns on Pluto TV via Roku streaming video. There wasn’t anything on cable TV that caught my attention earlier and we have a new show to watch on Britbox later, “After Paradise” with Humphrey and Martha from “Death in Paradise.” Looking forward to having a new series to enjoy.

Hope your Sunday has been a blessed one. Have a great week, ya’ll.

I am a Native Texan, Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Catholic Convert residing in rural North East Texas since 1975 when I married my husband and this small town girl became a country girl. I was taught to knit at the age of ten and discovered the writings of Elizabeth Zimmerman shortly after I married. I learned to ‘unvent’ things as I went along, to create my own patterns and generally have a blast with yarn and needles. In the mid 1980’s I explored the idea of spinning my own yarn and eventually got interested in weaving on a floor loom. I have three spinning wheels and a 24″ four-shaft Herald floor loom that I purchased from a friend in the 1990’s. I also enjoy sewing, tatting and making rosaries. I have a work room that contains my fiber, yarn, floor loom, sewing machines, serger and rosary making supplies. I have a spinning corner in a bedroom next to my work room, both with north windows looking toward the creek.
