I’m enjoying some plain stocking stitch knitting on a size 3 needle. I’ll need to go stash diving soon to decide on the next yarn for the cowl. I should be able to make a decent dent in the left-over fingering yarn for this project.
It’s been cool, cloudy and damp today. Brad was out and about early to meet a buddy for breakfast and he brought me a breakfast croissant from the coffee cafe in town. I got a load of towels done earlier and we had chicken salad for lunch. Not sure what we’ll do for our evening meal.
Everyone at the farm has cold symptoms again and they will be staying home tomorrow. I hope Brad doesn’t end up sick again. It’s not that long since he got over the last bout and had to be on a steroid for the chest congestion. We shall see! So far so good. He’s enjoying an afternoon nap for a change. I’m watching Midsomer Murders reruns and working on the cowl. The episode playing now on Pluto TV streaming video is The House in the Woods where we first meet Ben Jones. He’s my favorite character next to DCI Tom Barnaby.
I spent quite a bit of time on Twitter today and decided to ‘un-block’ everyone I had on my block list. Elon Musk suggested it, except for the scam accounts, and I thought, “What the heck? Why not just start over and see if it makes a difference in my feed. So far it’s made no difference at all! I’ve followed a few more people over the past few days and deliberately did NOT follow one other account. She says she’s ‘un-following’ people who don’t follow her back because it’s not about YOUR egos and gathering followers. Say what? Hypocrisy is not something many people can understand these days. Oh, well. Takes all kinds, doesn’t it? I informed her that I follow people who post things of interest to me and the “Follow me!” nonsense doesn’t resonate. At. All. Talk about an ego!
She seems to be laboring under the delusion that ‘patriots’ ‘following’ one another on Twitter is going to save this country or some such nonsense. There’s always a ‘Trump Train’ that someone wants people to join: “Drop your handles and follow me!” Sigh. It’s a social media site. Not a voting booth, not a city council, not a school board. I suppose some people feel that what they post online carries some weight in our society, never realizing that the vast majority of people in the country alone don’t spend time on Twitter at all, let alone every day. Oh, well. You’ll have days like that…
Another episode of Midsomer Murders has started and I think I’ll finish this post and watch it until Brad wakes up and wants to eat. Have a blessed and quiet Saturday, ya’ll.
