The temps dipped down into the 30’s last night and it’s been in the mid to high 40’s during the day, sunny and breezy. The wind makes it feel cooler than it is but it’s still a nice day. We got in to see the chiropractor this morning and ran a couple of errands on the way home.
I made chicken salad and we had it on fresh croissants from the bakery for our lunch. Tasted great! Just about the time we were finishing lunch I felt a migraine coming on so I’ve called a halt to any other activities I had planned for the rest of the day. The dose of prescription meds I took is beginning to kick in so I’ll make this short and sweet and kick back in the recliner for a ‘chair nap’ as I call it. It’s not been long enough since lunch to go to bed but the recliner will be fine.
I’m working on my mini skein cowl until I get too sleepy to enjoy it, not in the mood for size 0 sock needles today. Hope your afternoon is as blessed as ours and your day is as sunny and beautiful. God bless! Catch ya later!
I am a Native Texan, Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Catholic Convert residing in rural North East Texas since 1975 when I married my husband and this small town girl became a country girl.
I was taught to knit at the age of ten and discovered the writings of Elizabeth Zimmerman shortly after I married. I learned to ‘unvent’ things as I went along, to create my own patterns and generally have a blast with yarn and needles.
In the mid 1980’s I explored the idea of spinning my own yarn and eventually got interested in weaving on a floor loom. I have three spinning wheels and a 24″ four-shaft Herald floor loom that I purchased from a friend in the 1990’s.
I also enjoy sewing, tatting and making rosaries. I have a work room that contains my fiber, yarn, floor loom, sewing machines, serger and rosary making supplies. I have a spinning corner in a bedroom next to my work room, both with north windows looking toward the creek.
