It’s 78° outside and humid enough to drown frogs! It’s awful. I’ve been to Houston a couple of times in my life and Puerto Rico once and it’s almost that bad here today. Which means there is a front headed our way with thunderstorms tomorrow most likely. Good thing we have a good A/C system. We canceled the chiropractor visit this morning but still need to run a couple of errands later. I’ll be indoors working on my knitting.
I stayed up until just after midnight last night to watch an online ‘Unfollow Party” that someone was streaming off of YouTube and posting on Twitter. I watched the counter swap when Project Veritas followers dropped and James O’Keefe’s followers climbed and he is well ahead of PV now. This is going to cost the PV board a ton of money. They just didn’t think this through. James now has 1,332,264 followers and climbing. Project Veritas now has 1,206,848 followers and dropping. C’est la vie!
For some reason when I tried to log onto Deposit Photos for the frog pic earlier I had no luck. I’ve been using Firefox for quite a while but I have Brave on my laptop as well and switched over. And, BAM! It’s lightening fast, logged right onto Deposit Photos and Twitter, no problem. Guess I’m changing to Brave browser for the foreseeable future. Firefox ran updates a few days ago so something is out of whack. No problem. I’m good to go.
We had a late breakfast this morning and it’s almost 2:00 pm now but neither of us is hungry yet. I’ve got reruns of Law & Order on the TV for the time being while I work on Brad’s socks. I’m slowly making progress and I really like the BFL/nylon blend yarn from Invictus Yarns I’m using.
I’ve been wearing my Hitchhiker scarf around the house today. It’s not large enough to be a shawl for me so I wear it as a scarf to keep the draft from the A/C vent off the back of my neck. I need to go through my stash of hand-spun yarn and pick out something for another Hitchhiker. Still haven’t done my yarn inventory of hand-spun or finished plying that bobbin on the wheel, but I’ll get to it. One thing I have plenty of is time!
I also need to start the pot of chicken broth. There is just enough white meat left on the roast chicken to make chicken salad for sandwiches this evening and I’ve got a little black bean soup in the fridge that we need to eat so that won’t take long to prepare when we’re ready to eat. We’ll probably have some fruit in a little bit. We’ve gotten into the habit of cutting up a large Red Delicious apple and peeling an orange and dividing it between us. Half of an apple and half of an orange is a good afternoon snack.
Got my Kobo reader fully charged at last and I’m about a third of the way through the second chapter of the Thomas Sowell book I’m reading. If I have plain knitting to work on, not a pattern, I can read while I knit so I could always pull out that mini skein cowl I found lurking in the basket by my chair and do a bit of multi tasking.
The sun is out now and from inside the house it looks like a lovely day, but I know what it’s really like out there and I’m staying in as long as possible. Have a blessed day, ya’ll. Today is Mardi Gras and tomorrow is Ash Wednesday and Lent will begin. God bless!
