Good Day To Spin

I’ve been spinning on and off this afternoon and went from 2.5 ounces to 3.0 ounces before taking a break…

…and stopped at 5 pm with 3.5 ounces on the bobbin.

This leaves me with half an ounce to finish this bobbin, put it beside the first bobbin on my lazy kate and start plying onto a jumbo bobbin. I’ll work on finishing that up tomorrow. My shoulders are begging for the heating pad and then it’ll be time for dinner.

We had our regular Tuesday chiropractic appointments today and it was good to get back after missing the last couple of appointments. I need more turmeric and it’s on order so I’ll pick up the larger bottle next week when we see Randy again. In the meantime we stopped at the local health food store, Green Market, and I found a bottle of a turmeric blend from Garden of Life. I picked the extra strength with black pepper, ginger and probiotics. My word. The tablets look like horse pills! One of those a day will be plenty. I still have a few days of the Standard Process brand I’ve been taking but I didn’t want to run completely out of turmeric tablets before next week, so I’m good to go!

It’s been drizzling rain all day and for once people are not driving like maniacs on hwy 75. We stopped at the Walmart Market across the street from the chiropractor after our adjustments and picked up half a dozen things we needed. Two bags. $36.00. Really???

Then we stopped at Panera and split a Chipotle Chicken Avocado Melt sandwich and had a glass of their iced green tea. No way either of us could eat a whole sandwich, but maaaan, those things are good!

It was good to get back home and enjoy an afternoon of our usual peace and quiet out here in our little corner of Texas. It’s coming up on 6 pm and I need to get something to eat soon and work on my knitting. Hopefully there will be something worth watching on TV later, maybe something streaming on Roku…NOT ‘The Resident’ giving his ‘Sad State of the Union Address’. Everyone on Twitter has been cracking jokes about it for the past two days. And there was usual reaction to the Grammy Awards. Seems they’ve outdone themselves this time and invited Satan to the show. I don’t understand people. I really do not understand people. Hollyweird just keeps getting weirder every day.

Oh, well! Back in the land of sanity and normal people we are living our lives the way we like and enjoying every minute of it. Hope your Tuesday is as blessed as ours has been.

I am a Native Texan, Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Catholic Convert residing in rural North East Texas since 1975 when I married my husband and this small town girl became a country girl. I was taught to knit at the age of ten and discovered the writings of Elizabeth Zimmerman shortly after I married. I learned to ‘unvent’ things as I went along, to create my own patterns and generally have a blast with yarn and needles. In the mid 1980’s I explored the idea of spinning my own yarn and eventually got interested in weaving on a floor loom. I have three spinning wheels and a 24″ four-shaft Herald floor loom that I purchased from a friend in the 1990’s. I also enjoy sewing, tatting and making rosaries. I have a work room that contains my fiber, yarn, floor loom, sewing machines, serger and rosary making supplies. I have a spinning corner in a bedroom next to my work room, both with north windows looking toward the creek.
