I’ve Canceled Tuesday

I’m taking the day off. I know. It’s only Tuesday. My battery needs recharging and the best way to do that is to cancel everything today and rest. No chiropractor appointment. No shopping. No laundry or household chores.

Brad has a couple of appointments later today but other than that he’s at home. His shoulder is bothering him and he didn’t get enough sleep either. I hope the specialist tells him that he just needs an injection to calm things down.

We are making plans for re-insulating our above ground water filter/cut off. The temperature is going to dip down into single digits in the near future and the cover that Brad made for it many years ago has begun to deteriorate, one of those things he wanted to have done already but can’t until his shoulder is better. I’m thinking that would be a nice project for our son-in-law and the grandsons. It’s a simple enough project: a three sided box with slanting top to set up against the house to cover the plumbing.

Brad is doing his house-husband thing and putting up the clean dishes for me. He made coffee and we had toasted English muffins and yogurt for breakfast. I’m still in my nightgown, propped up in my recliner, book and knitting within reach. I might even decide to have what I call a ‘chair nap’ later and just recline the chair back and snooze for a bit.

I’m going to see what’s on OAN and think about putting on clothes before long. Have a blessed Tuesday, ya’ll.

I am a Native Texan, Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Catholic Convert residing in rural North East Texas since 1975 when I married my husband and this small town girl became a country girl. I was taught to knit at the age of ten and discovered the writings of Elizabeth Zimmerman shortly after I married. I learned to ‘unvent’ things as I went along, to create my own patterns and generally have a blast with yarn and needles. In the mid 1980’s I explored the idea of spinning my own yarn and eventually got interested in weaving on a floor loom. I have three spinning wheels and a 24″ four-shaft Herald floor loom that I purchased from a friend in the 1990’s. I also enjoy sewing, tatting and making rosaries. I have a work room that contains my fiber, yarn, floor loom, sewing machines, serger and rosary making supplies. I have a spinning corner in a bedroom next to my work room, both with north windows looking toward the creek.
