Another Project Almost Finished

I had hoped to have finished the cowl by this evening, but I took most of the day off from knitting for the sake of my joints. I remembered the bottle of ibuprofen and took a dose of it a little while ago and then picked back up and started the last section of the cowl. I see our primary care physician in the morning and I’ll talk to her about my aches and pains. Ibuprofen may not be what I need to be taking even though I don’t take it on a regular basis.

The cold, damp weather continues so it’s about time I addressed the arthritis issue seriously. I know I need more exercise and I’ve ordered a new Fitbit. My old one bit the dust a few years ago but I hadn’t replaced it. Now with my Galaxy phone I’ll get more use out of a Fitbit.

I placed an online grocery order at Albertson’s today just before noon and they had it ready by 3 pm. However I encountered a problem with their phone app when I went to check in. I placed the order online with my laptop and when I tried to check in on my phone the app wasn’t working. They’ve replaced the signs in the pickup area at the store and there isn’t a phone number to call anymore. You have to check in via their app.

I had to go into the store and tell them I was there to pickup my order. It took several minutes to get anyone to help. The customer service guy paged someone twice. I wasn’t a happy camper. And on top of than I had to disable my VPN on my laptop in order to place my order to begin with. I don’t like that. I wonder if that was what was wrong with me trying to access their app on my phone? Hmm. Oh, well. Next time I’ll just order from Walmart. Albertson’s never has the extra sharp Sargento sliced cheese we like anyway and Walmart keeps it stocked.

I took a pass on the chiropractor visit this morning but Brad kept his appointment and feels a lot better. I just wanted to sleep awhile longer. And I did. A hot shower helped a lot when I finally got up and moving and the day has gone much better than it began! Brad and I spent the afternoon watching several episodes of “New Tricks”, season two and into season three. I’ve been trying to find something else for us to watch but we’re a bit tired of “Midsomer Murders” and “Father Brown”. I’m hoping there will be new episodes of “The Chelsea Detective” after the first of the year. We really enjoyed the first season. “London Kills” had potential but we don’t care for it as much. I guess we’re back to Poirot and Miss Marple until we come up with something else.

Brad is out of the shower, the kitchen is clean and the beds are turned down for the night. I’ve got a large package of chicken breasts to divide tomorrow. Most of it will go in the freezer and I think I’ll put several of them in the crock pot with sliced red onion, fresh garlic, and BBQ sauce tomorrow morning. With colder weather I’m in the mood to cook again. I’ve got ingredients for potato salad and a can of Bush’s Southern BBQ Beans in the pantry. I need to see about a bag of frozen corn on the cob to keep on hand to go with BBQ. I’ll check Walmart on my way home from my appointment in the morning and get some of the extra sharp cheese while I’m there.

I’ve got a couple of loads of laundry to do tomorrow and it’s time to do some dusting and sweep throughout the house. The kitchen floor needs a good mopping as well. There is plenty to keep me busy and I’ve no excuse to be bored.

Have a blessed evening, ya’ll.

I am a Native Texan, Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Catholic Convert residing in rural North East Texas since 1975 when I married my husband and this small town girl became a country girl. I was taught to knit at the age of ten and discovered the writings of Elizabeth Zimmerman shortly after I married. I learned to ‘unvent’ things as I went along, to create my own patterns and generally have a blast with yarn and needles. In the mid 1980’s I explored the idea of spinning my own yarn and eventually got interested in weaving on a floor loom. I have three spinning wheels and a 24″ four-shaft Herald floor loom that I purchased from a friend in the 1990’s. I also enjoy sewing, tatting and making rosaries. I have a work room that contains my fiber, yarn, floor loom, sewing machines, serger and rosary making supplies. I have a spinning corner in a bedroom next to my work room, both with north windows looking toward the creek.
