No Desk Yet, But…

The guys from Furniture Row arrived yesterday evening and we were expecting this table as well as the desk that will serve as my sewing table. No. Desk. It hasn’t arrived yet. Odd that no one at the store thought to let us know that all we were getting was the small table. I’m a bit miffed at all the work I’ve put in cleaning and arranging my studio for furniture that didn’t arrive. Brad will call them later and find out when we can expect delivery. It’s not like I don’t have a table at all in there, but still. Bummer.

I got the plastic drawer, caddie thingy emptied and it’s either headed to the farm or to Goodwill. I’ve also got a couple of large bags of lace and ribbon for Audrey and the girls. I’m sure they can use it for crafts and sewing. It’s been stashed in the bottom drawer of that caddie for twenty years and I haven’t used any of it.

I didn’t get any knitting done yesterday, but in between the sorting and organizing I finished “Oath of Loyalty” by Kyle Mills. Good book! I look forward to the next one. Now I need to go back and finish “Brother Cadfael’s Penance”. Then I’ll need to look for another book to read because that will finish the series.

We had the house open all day yesterday until about 5 pm when the breeze started dying down. It got up to 85° in the house but felt more like 75° with all the ceiling fans going and the doors and windows open. The humidity is very low right now, no rain in sight for the next three weeks. Ugh. At least the house is aired out well and I got more cleaning done while it was open. Begone, dust bunnies! Brad went in to Frank & Lola’s for Bohemian Tacos for our lunch. I wasn’t hungry when dinner time rolled around so I just snacked so I could take my vitamins.

There was nothing, and I mean nothing! on TV worth watching yesterday evening. I gave up and turned it off. OAN was offline most of the day on streaming. Not just on Roku, but on their website as well. They finally came back online sometime after 3 pm.

I don’t have anything particular planned for today except a couple of loads of laundry and making another batch of pickled red onions. I may make the apple crisp later. Other than that I’ll be working on my knitting, trying to get one more pair of socks finished.

Have a blessed Thursday, ya’ll.

I am a Native Texan, Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Catholic Convert residing in rural North East Texas since 1975 when I married my husband and this small town girl became a country girl. I was taught to knit at the age of ten and discovered the writings of Elizabeth Zimmerman shortly after I married. I learned to ‘unvent’ things as I went along, to create my own patterns and generally have a blast with yarn and needles. In the mid 1980’s I explored the idea of spinning my own yarn and eventually got interested in weaving on a floor loom. I have three spinning wheels and a 24″ four-shaft Herald floor loom that I purchased from a friend in the 1990’s. I also enjoy sewing, tatting and making rosaries. I have a work room that contains my fiber, yarn, floor loom, sewing machines, serger and rosary making supplies. I have a spinning corner in a bedroom next to my work room, both with north windows looking toward the creek.
