Stash Diving Again

Somewhere in all of this stuff there is a ziplock bag with left-over yarn from my knitted socks. I can see it quite plainly in my mind’s eye but as yet I haven’t managed to unearth the blooming thing! I always keep the left-over yarn in case I need to mend a pair of socks and I need to add some yarn to the bag. If I can find it.

I have less than an inch to go on the Malabrigo socks and I’ll manage to finish them before I head off to shower and get ready for bed. It’s 9:35 pm now and I’ll probably be up until well after 11:00. I have a load of socks to launder tomorrow and I’ll add this pair to the load in the washer on the hand wash cycle.

We both saw the chiropractor today and Brad is going back to every two weeks instead of every week. I’ll stick with weekly visits for now as long as I am doing PT with Jared twice a week.

We stopped by the local health food market today for more elderberry chews and a couple of other things, then picked up our grocery order from Walmart and headed home. The market had a nice selection on their hot bar and we filled containers to take home for lunch. I had chicken and veggies and Brad had lasagna and veggies.

There is so much road and utility construction going on in our area. Still. And the state is cleaning out the bar ditches on the highway into town so traffic was backed up a bit due to only one lane being open at a time. And we had to circle around several blocks to get to the chiropractor’s office today because of utility construction at the main intersection where we turn off of Hwy 1417 onto Lamberth in Sherman. There is still one block of Main St. in Denison that is blocked off from Hwy 69 and several blocks of 69 are under construction as well. I am so over construction.

Brad is showered and cooling off before he heads off to bed and I’m watching Midsomer Murders on streaming video while I finish this pair of socks. It’s been a cloudy, muggy day here and it won’t be much better tomorrow, then it will be hot over the weekend. I’ve got plenty to keep me busy indoors where it’s comfortable. I may work on some dishcloths or a towel with the cotton yarn that arrived yesterday after I finish these socks.

Have a blessed Wednesday night, ya’ll.

I am a Native Texan, Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Catholic Convert residing in rural North East Texas since 1975 when I married my husband and this small town girl became a country girl. I was taught to knit at the age of ten and discovered the writings of Elizabeth Zimmerman shortly after I married. I learned to ‘unvent’ things as I went along, to create my own patterns and generally have a blast with yarn and needles. In the mid 1980’s I explored the idea of spinning my own yarn and eventually got interested in weaving on a floor loom. I have three spinning wheels and a 24″ four-shaft Herald floor loom that I purchased from a friend in the 1990’s. I also enjoy sewing, tatting and making rosaries. I have a work room that contains my fiber, yarn, floor loom, sewing machines, serger and rosary making supplies. I have a spinning corner in a bedroom next to my work room, both with north windows looking toward the creek.
