Running Errands and Losing My Mind

We had errands to run this morning including a trip to the local Walmart. We’ve mostly been ordering online and then picking up our order but I thought it would be a good idea to get some exercise and do our shopping in person this time. Audrey needed a few things as well so we were able to take care of that for her.

At first we thought we’d just do all the shopping together, then decided to buy what she needed, deliver it to her at the farm, stop for a bite of lunch, and go back for our stuff. Yeah. Best laid plans and all that…

We start unloading her groceries and I suddenly realize that I had forgotten the ONE thing she needed most, Doctor Talbot’s tablets for baby Gabriel who is teething and feels awful. I had brought the egg basket for the girls to refill for us and just as Sarah came out with a full basket I asked if she could hold onto it until we got back because we needed to go back to Walmart.

So. We get back to the farm with the tablets and hand them to Audrey. And promptly drive off without the eggs and I didn’t realize it until we got home! Sigh. At least I got to pet the puppies for a few minutes while we were at the farm.

We both needed to eat after we left the farm and my ankle was killing me so there is NO way I’m up for another stroll through Walmart today. We went through the drive-thru at Culver’s and took our lunch home to eat. That was over two hours ago and I’m still ‘feet up’ in the recliner and Brad has gone back to town to pick up a couple of things at Albertson’s and get the mail at the post office.

I did think to put in an online grocery order a few minutes ago at the Walmart Neighborhood Market near the chiropractor’s office, and we have appointments tomorrow so we can pick up our order after we leave Randy’s office.

I’ve made a little progress on the knitted potholder and will work on that this afternoon. I left a couple of yards of extra yarn at the cast on for sewing up the opening when I’m further along. That’s one of my Doctor Who stitch markers that I bought at DFW Fiber Fest the last time I was there.

I finished Dr. Pol’s book earlier and enjoyed it very much. The paperback copies that I ordered online may be at the post office today. If so, we can take one of them to Audrey tomorrow. And pick up my basket of eggs.

I’m going to knit and watch Bongino’s podcast from this morning. Have a blessed Thursday afternoon and evening, ya’ll.

I am a Native Texan, Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Catholic Convert residing in rural North East Texas since 1975 when I married my husband and this small town girl became a country girl. I was taught to knit at the age of ten and discovered the writings of Elizabeth Zimmerman shortly after I married. I learned to ‘unvent’ things as I went along, to create my own patterns and generally have a blast with yarn and needles. In the mid 1980’s I explored the idea of spinning my own yarn and eventually got interested in weaving on a floor loom. I have three spinning wheels and a 24″ four-shaft Herald floor loom that I purchased from a friend in the 1990’s. I also enjoy sewing, tatting and making rosaries. I have a work room that contains my fiber, yarn, floor loom, sewing machines, serger and rosary making supplies. I have a spinning corner in a bedroom next to my work room, both with north windows looking toward the creek.
