Where Did The Time Go?

This day has flown by and here it is after 11:00 pm! It’s been raining for several hours and we are enjoying the soothing sound of rain on the roof. We haven’t done much today. I made chicken salad for sandwiches for our lunch and Brad drove in to pick up pizza for dinner. He’s been puttering away at his laptop and I’ve been reading all afternoon and evening.

I was reading something online about Dr. Pol the veterinarian and saw that he’d written a book, “Never Turn Your Back on an Angus Cow” and found it listed on the Rakuten Kobo website so I downloaded it and began reading. I can’t put it down! I’m almost half-way through the book and realizing that I need a couple of paperback copies for family members. I ordered one for Brad and one for Audrey and David. I’m sure Sarah and Rachel will enjoy it as well.

I haven’t done any knitting today since I’ve been wrapped up in my book. I did a little housework, not a lot, and we got the phone call and email reminding us that Home Depot will be here tomorrow with our new Maytag dryer. We rescheduled our regular chiropractor appointment for Friday instead of Wednesday since the deliver window is too close for us to get back home in time for the delivery guys to be here.

The news has been very depressing today with the school shooting in Uvalde, Texas. At last count it was 21 dead, including 18 children. The shooter is dead, killed by the tactical team. Police were chasing him on a murder charge after he shot and killed his grandmother and he ran into an elementary school and started killing kids. That makes me so incredibly angry! So his life was crap. Why did he have to do that? There’s no sense to it. That’s just evil. It’s getting to the point I don’t even want to hear the news.

On a positive note however, Ken Paxton won the runoff for Texas Attorney General so we aren’t stuck with another Bush in office. And Herschel Walker is the Republican nominee for the Georgia Senate, and Marjorie Taylor Greene is the projected winner of the Georgia Republican House primary.

It’s late and I need to hit the shower and get ready for bed. Have a blessed Tuesday night, ya’ll.

I am a Native Texan, Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Catholic Convert residing in rural North East Texas since 1975 when I married my husband and this small town girl became a country girl. I was taught to knit at the age of ten and discovered the writings of Elizabeth Zimmerman shortly after I married. I learned to ‘unvent’ things as I went along, to create my own patterns and generally have a blast with yarn and needles. In the mid 1980’s I explored the idea of spinning my own yarn and eventually got interested in weaving on a floor loom. I have three spinning wheels and a 24″ four-shaft Herald floor loom that I purchased from a friend in the 1990’s. I also enjoy sewing, tatting and making rosaries. I have a work room that contains my fiber, yarn, floor loom, sewing machines, serger and rosary making supplies. I have a spinning corner in a bedroom next to my work room, both with north windows looking toward the creek.
