Project Finished

The last hand towel is finished. It seems I missed my row count on the blue one and the tab at the top is a few rows shorter than on the other two. It’s not enough of a problem to take it out and redo it. The blue yarn is a tad thinner than the yellow and white coned yarns, and it’s softer, too. All I need now is buttons. That will require a trip to JoAnn’s since I couldn’t find anything in my button stash that would work.

I’m going to start on the knitted pot holders in the morning. I’d like to do them in pairs in at least three different yarns, preferably blues and yellows to go with the dishcloths. I still need to make a few more for myself and I might just work on those first. Mine are all mix and match from using whatever yarn I had on hand and I’d like to color coordinate them with my kitchen. The blues would work well. I’m going to look for a deep rose colored cotton yarn to use for my kitchen with the blue.

It stayed cool and cloudy today and I didn’t get out at all. I have a sneaking suspicion I may have a migraine sneaking up on me. We shall see. At least I have something on hand if I do. It might simply be sinus crud again.

I’m enjoying my Kobo e-reader a lot and I’m well into “The Leper of St. Giles”, number five in the Chronicles of Brother Cadfael by Ellis Peters.

We didn’t make it out to the farm today since the kids are a bit under the weather. We’ll try again next weekend or perhaps during the week if they’re feeling better. I’m out of eggs and I really don’t want to buy any. You get spoiled to farm fresh eggs after years of store-bought eggs.

I’ve grown a bit tired of social media lately. It’s the same old thing no matter what platform I’m on. Gab, Locals, Truth Social, Facebook, Twitter. The only one I’m still enjoying is MeWe and I only have FB and Twitter to check in on people I know. I rarely post anything on either of those sites.

There is one person on Bongino’s Locals site that is more than a little over the top. Talk about conspiracy theories! Did you know that the Chinese are going to invade the US? Oh. My. Word. Where do these people come from? And, of course, the media and their Democrap overlords are trying to terrify us with monkeypox now. Groan. I’m waiting for someone to start cramming the face diapers down our throats again.

It’s past 10:00 pm and I’m having trouble staying awake and focused so I’m going to call it a day and hit the shower. Have a blessed Sunday night, ya’ll.

I am a Native Texan, Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Catholic Convert residing in rural North East Texas since 1975 when I married my husband and this small town girl became a country girl. I was taught to knit at the age of ten and discovered the writings of Elizabeth Zimmerman shortly after I married. I learned to ‘unvent’ things as I went along, to create my own patterns and generally have a blast with yarn and needles. In the mid 1980’s I explored the idea of spinning my own yarn and eventually got interested in weaving on a floor loom. I have three spinning wheels and a 24″ four-shaft Herald floor loom that I purchased from a friend in the 1990’s. I also enjoy sewing, tatting and making rosaries. I have a work room that contains my fiber, yarn, floor loom, sewing machines, serger and rosary making supplies. I have a spinning corner in a bedroom next to my work room, both with north windows looking toward the creek.
