Busy Day

We had the electricians here yesterday, most of the day, and I totally forgot to sit down and post something. The weather was pretty windy and we are both congested this morning. I just had my first sip of coffee for the morning and things are looking up!

The wind has brought a change of weather with cloudy skies and cooler temperatures. As the day goes on it will get colder and be freezing by late afternoon. We have errands to run and get back home before it gets so cold. The order I put in over my phone is ready for pickup and we have a few things to drop off at the farm for Audrey.

I’m in need of the chiropractic adjustment and Randy can help with the sinus problems I’m having. He’s really helping my cranky left ankle and it’s not bothering me as much since he started working on it. Brad is feeling the need for an adjustment as well.

I still haven’t managed to finish that pair of socks I’ve been working on. I keep grabbing the coned cotton yarn and working on washcloths. I’ll see how much knitting I can get done on the socks while we’re away from the house today and make a point of continuing on until I’m done. Today is the day! The socks will be finished before I go to bed.

I am a Native Texan, Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Catholic Convert residing in rural North East Texas since 1975 when I married my husband and this small town girl became a country girl. I was taught to knit at the age of ten and discovered the writings of Elizabeth Zimmerman shortly after I married. I learned to ‘unvent’ things as I went along, to create my own patterns and generally have a blast with yarn and needles. In the mid 1980’s I explored the idea of spinning my own yarn and eventually got interested in weaving on a floor loom. I have three spinning wheels and a 24″ four-shaft Herald floor loom that I purchased from a friend in the 1990’s. I also enjoy sewing, tatting and making rosaries. I have a work room that contains my fiber, yarn, floor loom, sewing machines, serger and rosary making supplies. I have a spinning corner in a bedroom next to my work room, both with north windows looking toward the creek.
