Rewind for Sunday Morning

Brad’s plans changed this morning and he returned home before he got to the farm to pick the kids up for church. He was having back spasms that wouldn’t let up, probably as a result of all the work he’s been doing cleaning and rearranging in his shop.

Good news is the problem was easily remedied with the proper medication that he had on hand. He’s napping while I’m making plans for our supper in a little while. I’m in the mood, as is he, for homemade beans and weenies, mac and cheese, and cornbread. Yum!

I’ll get my cornbread started while the macaroni is cooking, and go ahead and brown my cut up hotdogs. Then, all I need to do is add the BBQ beans to the hotdogs and make the cheese sauce for the mac and cheese, then pour both into casserole dishes and put them in the oven. Ta da! Easy peasy.

I just finished putting in two online orders for groceries at Albertson’s and Walmart. One order I’ll pick up this evening, the other I’ll get in the morning. Then, all I need to do is pick up the mail at the post office in the morning, and maybe some breakfast croissants at the coffee shop for our breakfast, and I’m done!

Time to get in the kitchen and start meal prep. Have a blessed Sunday evening, ya’ll.

I am a Native Texan, Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Catholic Convert residing in rural North East Texas since 1975 when I married my husband and this small town girl became a country girl. I was taught to knit at the age of ten and discovered the writings of Elizabeth Zimmerman shortly after I married. I learned to ‘unvent’ things as I went along, to create my own patterns and generally have a blast with yarn and needles. In the mid 1980’s I explored the idea of spinning my own yarn and eventually got interested in weaving on a floor loom. I have three spinning wheels and a 24″ four-shaft Herald floor loom that I purchased from a friend in the 1990’s. I also enjoy sewing, tatting and making rosaries. I have a work room that contains my fiber, yarn, floor loom, sewing machines, serger and rosary making supplies. I have a spinning corner in a bedroom next to my work room, both with north windows looking toward the creek.
