In January we bought a 2020 Ford Escape, Titanium Hybrid SUV. I love this vehicle! It’s a dream to drive and the mileage is twice what I got in the Dodge Grand Caravan.
Most of what I do in the way of driving is 4 miles into town, puttering around in town, with an occasional trip an hour away from home and back. Most of the time, around town, I’m driving on battery. The lowest mileage I’m gotten so far is 40 mpg and a trip to town to pick up pizza yesterday showed 50.2 mpg.
However. I recently found out that I should have already had my SUV in for an oil change, even though the oil looks new, even though I have a little over 3,000 miles on it in 11 months, the oil doesn’t get hot enough when I’m mostly driving on battery so it needs to be changed more often. Huh? Yeah. Fancy that. No problemo. I’ve got an appointment to take it in next week for servicing and they’ll go ahead and rotate the tires while it’s in the shop.
It also needs to be washed and detailed. There is a good car wash in town that I like and I just stay behind the wheel and put it in neutral and ta da! All clean. I do the detailing myself at home. We have a shop vac and I have the inside vacuumed and wiped down in no time, much less work than the mini van. It’s nice when life can be simplified, especially when it comes to upkeep on a vehicle.
I dropped Brad off to pick up his F-150 a little after 11:00 this morning and he met a couple of buddies for lunch. Meantime, I headed to the coffee shop with my laptop and knitting, but didn’t stay long. Had a headache coming on that wasn’t helped by a screeching toddler. Bless her heart. Mommy hasn’t taught her to use her ‘indoor’ voice when out in public. Oh, well. I stayed long enough to enjoy a piece of coffee cake and a bit of coffee, finally finished what I was doing and headed for the Ford dealership, then picked up lunch and came home.
I’m catching up with Bongino while I write this. I’ve got his Tuesday podcast on now and he is off on Dan Crenshaw at the moment about an event where Crenshaw was bashing the Freedom Caucus of America and claiming Adam Kinzinger was voting with Trump, a 99% voter with Trump. WTF? Looks like Crenshaw is just another RINO. Nothing the man said in the clip Bongino showed is true. Crenshaw is lying. Kinzinger had a score of 45% on Liberty Score. Crenshaw is doing the same thing the left does, namely accusing others of doing what he is doing! They think we are so blooming stupid it’s insulting. Adam Kinzinger??? Seriously???
Sigh. Moving right along…
It’s sunny, warm and windy here today but just humid enough to keep from opening the house. I’ve got the last load of laundry for the week in the washer. Nice to go into the weekend being caught up. Dishes clean, fridge full of food. Brand new range that works. I want to bake something. Biscuits! That’s what I want to bake. And cookies. And some homemade bread.
Anyway, Brad is pulling into the garage as I write this so I’ll finish for now and pray you all have a blessed Friday afternoon and weekend. Remember, it’s RED Friday, ya’ll. Remember Everyone Deployed!
