The Weekend Is Here!

Our new beds arrived yesterday morning and in no time they were set up and I was laundering new sheets and the mattress cover for the queen size bed. The cover for the full size bed will arrive in about a week.

I laundered the king size flannel sheets that came off the old bed and they are folded and ready for our daughter to put them to use. The king size blankets and pillows work fine on the queen size bed.

Full Size Tempur Pedic adjustable bed all ready for sheets and blankets.

Both beds adjust at the head and the foot, have a massage feature and a light underneath. No more stumbling around at night when one of us is headed for the bathroom, barely awake. And at long last I can sleep on my back with my head raised so I don’t snore. I’d like to find a bedspread for the full size bed instead of just a couple of blankets and no way to cover the pillows during the day. I can put the extra pillows in the closet for now since I won’t need to pile them up to sleep anymore. When I want to sit up in bed and read all I have to do is raise the head and foot of the bed and it’s like sitting in the recliner!

I got very little knitting done yesterday and I plan on making up for it over the weekend. I really, really want to finish my pullover. Time for coffee and breakfast.

Have a blessed weekend, ya’ll. Spend it with the ones you love.

I am a Native Texan, Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Catholic Convert residing in rural North East Texas since 1975 when I married my husband and this small town girl became a country girl. I was taught to knit at the age of ten and discovered the writings of Elizabeth Zimmerman shortly after I married. I learned to ‘unvent’ things as I went along, to create my own patterns and generally have a blast with yarn and needles. In the mid 1980’s I explored the idea of spinning my own yarn and eventually got interested in weaving on a floor loom. I have three spinning wheels and a 24″ four-shaft Herald floor loom that I purchased from a friend in the 1990’s. I also enjoy sewing, tatting and making rosaries. I have a work room that contains my fiber, yarn, floor loom, sewing machines, serger and rosary making supplies. I have a spinning corner in a bedroom next to my work room, both with north windows looking toward the creek.
