Almost There

I’m two inches into the last mini skein for the sampler scarf and will have it finished today. When I get through with this I’ll go back to knitting dishcloths for Audrey’s kitchen now that I have the variegated denim blue coned cotton.

I have two shades of solid denim blue yarn as well as the variegated denim blue. When I am finished I want four cloths out of each color of yarn, giving me two dozen washcloths. Then I can knit some hand towels to match! I could even weave a table runner…

I still have two more scarves and four pairs of socks to finish. I wanted to take some more photos but the battery on my camera needed to be charged so it will have to wait for another day.

We seem to have dodged the storms that were forecast for our area yesterday. It was looking like rain east of us and 15 minutes later the sun came out. All in all it was a lovely day and we had the house open until evening when the breeze died down.

I’ve got a package to pick up at the post office and another errand to run this morning after breakfast. I keep thinking there is something I meant to put on my grocery list but it eludes me at the moment.

Have a blessed day, ya’ll.

I am a Native Texan, Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Catholic Convert residing in rural North East Texas since 1975 when I married my husband and this small town girl became a country girl. I was taught to knit at the age of ten and discovered the writings of Elizabeth Zimmerman shortly after I married. I learned to ‘unvent’ things as I went along, to create my own patterns and generally have a blast with yarn and needles. In the mid 1980’s I explored the idea of spinning my own yarn and eventually got interested in weaving on a floor loom. I have three spinning wheels and a 24″ four-shaft Herald floor loom that I purchased from a friend in the 1990’s. I also enjoy sewing, tatting and making rosaries. I have a work room that contains my fiber, yarn, floor loom, sewing machines, serger and rosary making supplies. I have a spinning corner in a bedroom next to my work room, both with north windows looking toward the creek.
