A Nice Surprise in the Mail

I had ordered two cones of this yarn from Walmart and got an email that it was unavailable so I ordered two from Jo Ann’s but they only had one in stock, that’s it on the right.

A couple of days ago I had an email from Walmart that my order was ‘delayed.’ Hm. Well, yesterday the other two cones arrived in the mail. From Walmart. I wanted two and now I have three! This should keep me busy for some time.

I started the sixth mini skein on the sampler scarf and hope to have the seventh, and last mini skein finished before the weekend. I still need to soak and block the hat I finished recently and I can do both of them at the same time.

I’m bundled up in my recliner waiting for the heat to take the chill off the house. Brad just got home from coffee and breakfast with a friend and I need coffee to get my eyes unglued. Allergies, ugh. I love having the house open this time of the year but the trade off is allergy symptoms. So be it! This too shall pass.

RED Friday! Remember Everyone Deployed! Have a blessed day, ya’ll.

I am a Native Texan, Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Catholic Convert residing in rural North East Texas since 1975 when I married my husband and this small town girl became a country girl. I was taught to knit at the age of ten and discovered the writings of Elizabeth Zimmerman shortly after I married. I learned to ‘unvent’ things as I went along, to create my own patterns and generally have a blast with yarn and needles. In the mid 1980’s I explored the idea of spinning my own yarn and eventually got interested in weaving on a floor loom. I have three spinning wheels and a 24″ four-shaft Herald floor loom that I purchased from a friend in the 1990’s. I also enjoy sewing, tatting and making rosaries. I have a work room that contains my fiber, yarn, floor loom, sewing machines, serger and rosary making supplies. I have a spinning corner in a bedroom next to my work room, both with north windows looking toward the creek.
