Monday, Monday

As Monday’s go this one isn’t too bad, considering I’m feeling the effects of my detox. I’m a little tired but I feel better and didn’t wake up hungry at all. I had to cancel an early morning appointment. No point in getting my eyes tested when I’ve got acute allergy symptoms including itchy, watery eyes and a mild sinus headache. I don’t think we would get an accurate test result.

It’s a gorgeous morning and we should probably open the house and get some fresh air flowing through the house. Although…that is probably what has my allergies flared up since we’ve had the house open for several days now. I prefer the fresh air and letting my immune system become stronger from exposure to allergens. (I just poked my head outside. Belay that! It’s warm and muggy. Must have rain on the way from the Gulf…)

I snagged this gem from a Gab post:

Man without mask in supermarket parking lot to my unmasked husband:
“Man… I’ve seen a whole lot of people with masks on, there must be a whole lot of unvaccinated people”.

Husband: “I’m not vaccinated.”

Man, with look of shock on his face: “Really?”

Husband: “Yeah, and I’m not going to get vaccinated.”

Man: “Why not? What are you so afraid of?”

Husband: “Not a damn thing! I have an immune system.”

If you’re not on Gab you should be. It will require some diligence in blocking the anti-Semites and Racist Bigots when they show their ugly faces, but there aren’t that many and I rarely see anything of that sort anymore. It’s all free speech and some of it’s ugly. Just block it and enjoy the good part.

I follow Catturd and ilDonaldoTrumpo for fun. Great stuff! Lots of sensible Conservative folks on there like Bill Mitchell, Allen West, Mike Lindell, Craig Sawyer, Wayne Dupree, and more. You can follow me as well if you like: Patricia Steel Blankenship.

I finished the blue dishcloth and immediately cast on for another one using the size 8 needle. There isn’t a lot of yarn left on the cone and I need to find another cone like it. I have some solid blue, light and medium denim, in single balls rather than cones and I need to use it. Audrey likes yellow and blue and that’s what she wants to do in her kitchen when they renovate it. I thought I would make my way through some of my coned cotton stash and stock her up with dishcloths.

I found another cone of yellow yarn, an ombre yellow/white that will work for more dishcloths. I piled it all in a basket and stuck it under my desk in the living room next to my chair.

I am a Native Texan, Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Catholic Convert residing in rural North East Texas since 1975 when I married my husband and this small town girl became a country girl. I was taught to knit at the age of ten and discovered the writings of Elizabeth Zimmerman shortly after I married. I learned to ‘unvent’ things as I went along, to create my own patterns and generally have a blast with yarn and needles. In the mid 1980’s I explored the idea of spinning my own yarn and eventually got interested in weaving on a floor loom. I have three spinning wheels and a 24″ four-shaft Herald floor loom that I purchased from a friend in the 1990’s. I also enjoy sewing, tatting and making rosaries. I have a work room that contains my fiber, yarn, floor loom, sewing machines, serger and rosary making supplies. I have a spinning corner in a bedroom next to my work room, both with north windows looking toward the creek.
