Ever Had A Massage Hangover?

I used to get regular massages but it’s been a couple of years and I’ve been in need of some relief. I went in to the chiropractors office yesterday morning for a half hour massage followed by an adjustment. Best upper body massage I’ve ever had and that is saying something! For the first time in months my chiropractor was finally able to get my neck adjusted.

Jennifer really worked the sides and back of my neck as well as shoulders, back and hips. I was feeling the effects before I got back home and after lunch I couldn’t stay awake. It’s important to drink plenty of water following a massage since it’s a form of detox. Same with chiropractic. I had my Yeti full of lemon water and finished that.

Finally gave up about 3:20 pm and went to lay down. And slept for four hours! Oh, my word! The nap was great, I wasn’t that hungry for dinner but made sure I had plenty of water throughout the evening. About 1:00 am I was finally tired enough to go to bed for the rest of the night. I am sore everywhere Jennifer worked on me but it’s a good sore and I can turn my neck without it snapping and popping like breakfast cereal.

I’ll make sure I don’t get too enthusiastic about cleaning or moving furniture or anything on that order for today and I’ll continue drinking my lemon water.

I am a Native Texan, Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Catholic Convert residing in rural North East Texas since 1975 when I married my husband and this small town girl became a country girl. I was taught to knit at the age of ten and discovered the writings of Elizabeth Zimmerman shortly after I married. I learned to ‘unvent’ things as I went along, to create my own patterns and generally have a blast with yarn and needles. In the mid 1980’s I explored the idea of spinning my own yarn and eventually got interested in weaving on a floor loom. I have three spinning wheels and a 24″ four-shaft Herald floor loom that I purchased from a friend in the 1990’s. I also enjoy sewing, tatting and making rosaries. I have a work room that contains my fiber, yarn, floor loom, sewing machines, serger and rosary making supplies. I have a spinning corner in a bedroom next to my work room, both with north windows looking toward the creek.
